Wise And Challenging: Lifelong LearningIn the age of information and endless technological advancements, lifelong learning has undoubtedly become one of the cornerstones of career management. Though continuous self-improvement requires considerable time, energy and resources, they would be the safest investment into one’s labor market opportunities.

Lifelong learning is essential in every case–for the successfully employed, for the yet-to-be-unemployed and the though-employed-but-dissatisfied. Recognizing under-used aptitudes with their further development is the key idea of this challenging initiative.

Social and personal benefits of learning range from updating knowledge, skills and qualifications to gaining new acquaintances and getting personal growth and corresponding self-satisfaction.

Many companies sponsor learning activities of their employees as it keeps the human resources valuable and competitive. Topical trainings increase the employees’ efficiency and extend the productivity of their work, which facilitates the adaptation to the innovative changes in the organization.  Moreover, educating the employees is an excellent way to enhance their commitment to the firm.

Basically the advantages of lifelong learning for the employees include the following points: education prolongs working lifetime, increases salary and status and thus gives peace of mind when knowing that you have job security.

Options for learning are various, so consider distance learning, certificate programs, applied communication and effective listening courses. They involve innovative projects with the usage of current software and traditional studying methods.

Taking into account its obvious virtues, lifelong learning is often triggered by such mechanisms as individual and flexible learning options or linking education to work.
